WINTER CAMP AT BASHORE
The
2005 winter camp-out at Bashore was a good one.
Everybody had fun and there weren’t any major problems. First,
on Friday night, we arrived and everyone got settled.
It was Saturday morning when the action really began.
We started out with breakfast cooked on the hobo stoves.
There were plenty of choices including sausage, bacon, and eggs for
breakfast. For the rest of the
morning, we tried to keep ourselves warm playing board games and reading.
Lunch was sausages and hotdogs cooked over an open fire.
In the afternoon, we played a little football and launched all kinds of
things into the air with Josh Miller’s slingshot.
We had a great feast at dinner of roast beef and ham and green beans too.
That
night, some of the Scouts, including this scribe, were crazy enough to do the
Under-32 camp-out in a lean-to shelter. Sunday
morning, after breakfast and church service, we were ready to go home.
It had been a great weekend!
